Implementing the
Heat Illness Awareness Program
After finding out that fans and air conditioning were out of the question, I decided it was best to educate employees on heat illness. Installing an A/C system costs a bit of money, and fans are a health concern as they would blow dust around the stand.
Many employees showed concern with how to address this issue. Implementing an awareness program will help prevent further incidents regaurding employee health. Multiple websites, such as the Occupational Health & Safety Administration, provide guides on how to administer these programs.
There are many training guides, pamphlets, and handouts available for supervisors and employees. During training, I handed out these informational pamphlets to all employees. They were able to keep them to take home for future reference.
The two documents below were used in presentation of my plan. Feel free to take a look!
